Renee thought she had gone through the worse nightmare thought possible, but little did she know that more danger lurked in every shadow. Her intentions were to go back to Cuba and fulfill a promise made to ‘the two’ that helped her escape an unbelievable hell.

What she discovers on her return, changes her destiny and places her on a path that could only be imagined by the morbidly insane. Many questions remain… will she be able to fulfill the needs that have taken hold of what little heart she has left? Can the faith of a country girl turned breeder, with the help of those who would follow her into hell itself… be enough? Or will they find themselves in a situation that no one could get them out of?

This book has a few issues.

1. Lack of editing - the errors were easy to overlook in the first book, but in the second book they are just atrocious. Many times I couldn't even fathom what the author meant to say and it interfered with my ability to understand the scene. I found myself re-reading the same paragraphs over and over trying to understand and it was frustrating. In a time where simple grammar and spell checks are available on just about every application, it's depressing to see digital media produced with such inconsideration for the reader.

2. Inappropriate vernacular - in the first book, the author did a great job of depicting a 1930s setting. In this book, it doesn't seem like the 30s at all. The teen characters talk just like modern day teens, using slang like "sweet" (to describe a knife/blade) and "well, duh". I kept asking myself whether or not a few decades passed and I somehow missed it. The inconsistency with the time period annoyed me.

3. The emotional hysteria was giving me whiplash - everybody is bawling one second and laughing their butts off the next- again and again in the midst of these dire situations. Some hysterical, inappropriate laughter is understandable, but this felt like overkill. Every other paragraph the characters go from shocked/horrified/crying to laughing at something dumb Derek said (that wasn't even funny) for pages and pages. On a further note, I didn't really understand the instant undying love the characters felt for each other after just barely meeting. I get that hard times bring them closer together and they're on the same team - helping each other out and having each other's backs - but it seemed like many of the characters have this "I just met you but I love you with all my heart and will gladly die for you" attitude. It just didn't make sense to me. Can't they just start as friends with a common goal and build on that?

Issues aside, I am still very invested in this story and give kudos to the author for keeping me enthralled. Without the editing issues I would have given this book 4 or maybe even 5 stars.

Bloodbreeders The Revenge eBook Robin Renee Ray Rebel Angel Designs Jeanette Ratajczyk Reviews

This made for an action packed fast paced read. There never seemed to be a dull moment. At times I found myself tiring of the constant additions being added to her new "family" but that was tolerable. I also very much wish that Renee and Martin had some sort of interaction in this read. I'll definitely be checking out the next book to see how everything plays out.
If your looking for another vampire love story you have come to the wrong books. These ARE NOT the fun, romantic, or happily ever after books that everyone loves to read. They are about the horrible and demented side of the vampire community. They are about human (vampire) trafficking, sex slaves, torture to the sickest extent in the vampire world and Renee Crocker the girl who decided to take it all down. Along the way she finds the family she needs help her in her personal quest as well as fill the void of the one she left in her old human life.
As soon as i started reading Living in Darkness i knew i wouldn't be able to put it down. I felt so bad for Renee and everything she had to endure that i just couldn't wait to get into The Revenge knowing by just the name of the book that Renee would come back and set all wrongs in that part of her world right not just for her but for everyone who has a ever suffered from the same fate that she has.
Robin Renee Ray ROCKS!! I love what she has created in these books. Her characters are so wonderfully written you can't help falling in love with the heroes and truly hating the villains. I wanted to dive into the book and do something to help. lol I screamed at the book and cried right along side Renee. It's a very dark story but also a very powerful story of bravery and survival. If you haven't already picked up your copies of the books you should they are amazing reads and you won't be disappointed.
I knew going into this book that it was not a love story but man! This book has you riding an emotional roller coaster the whole book, you think there will be a light at the end of the tunnel? Nope. Then you think oh it can't possibly get any more frightening... nope! It does. Lots of action, struggles to survive, and a nice underlying message of fight for your family as hard as you can. I am excited to read book 3!
This is the second part of the series. An enjoyable read that was not as good as the first part. The story continues with Renee's successful escape from Cuba and back to familiar grounds in the United States. She finds herself joining forces
with a ragged bunch of orphans. The orphans find out what she is and they want to become vampires also. So they become vamps and the story continues with Renee plotting her revenge with the assistance of her new brood of vampires.
what to say? I loved reading the first book. such an amazing read. Robin Renee Ray truly knows how to capture the reader with not only words but with the mind blowing pictures to follow that come from reading her books. it's rare for an author to be able to this with her readers, but this author has it mastered! this is a series unlike any other out there. truly amazing read. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves to read and is not by any means squeamish of blood and guts. keep on writing Robin Renee Ray!!!! can't wait for the next books to come out.
Worth the $$$...... I like they way she writes.. and finished book two.. will post the review of book three next week.. I was to tired, and didn't have the attention span to read... I surfed , scavenging for free books... I was lucky enough to get all three... Living in Darkness, The Revenge and Seeking others for FREE... I have read first two so far... and LOVE them.. Violence, love, revenge, fairness, great characters, a good story... I def give five stars ... there are few typos, and missing quotation marks, I noticed while reading dialog.. but easily over looked.. and common in self published e-books... so if you spend the $$ they are worth it...
